When you visit different websites your personal computer logs the details of the websites visited and creates a copy of the pages you have looked at in your temporary Internet files.
If you’re worried about someone knowing you have visited this website and have looked at pages within it, you are advised to delete both the history of visited websites and the temporary Internet files from your computer. The process to delete history and temporary files will vary slightly depending on the type and version of browser you use. You are advised therefore to check how to do this in online help/support for your browser type. Often, the ‘delete functions’ can be found in the Internet Options under the ‘Tools’ menu.
While deleting your temporary Internet Files and history will help reduce the likelihood of discovery, it may not completely cover your tracks. If you want to be completely sure of not being tracked online, the safest way is to access the internet at your local library, a friends house, at work or an iplus point.
