Swindon Town Centre Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)
There is now a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) operational in Swindon Town Centre. The order was agreed on 9th November 2015 and an official launch took place on Tuesday 15th December 2015 with local press and media.
The order has been introduced in the Town Centre to ensure everybody can enjoy public space without the concern of anti-social behaviour. The PSPO covers seven different areas; dogs off leads, alcohol, begging, peddling/street trading, marking surfaces, skateboarding and aggressive charity collection.
The Public Spaces Protection Order can be found here
This means that any person found to be in breach of the restrictions may receive a £100 on the spot fine or fines up to £1000 if the case goes to court.
