Become a foster carer and change a child’s life
Swindon Borough Council’s hunt for new foster carers continues, with a new campaign being launched this week.

The Council is encouraging anyone who has been thinking about fostering, or would like to know more information, to get in touch with its fostering team.
There are several different types of fostering, including long-term placements, emergency placements or regular respite breaks. The Council is looking for foster families for a range of children, from babies to teenagers, who need support and guidance to help them to develop.
The Council currently has around 70 mainstream foster carers but they’re looking for more.
Councillor Mary Martin, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We’re extremely grateful to all our foster carers for the positive difference they make to the lives of children and young people in Swindon, by giving them a loving home and the right support. Fostering is deeply fulfilling and anyone who has a passion for giving children the best possible start in life should get in touch.
“Whether you’ve only just started considering fostering, or have been thinking about it for a long time, please get in touch with our fostering team who can provide lots of information about what to expect, what we’ll give you in return, and the steps involved in the application process.”

Regular information sessions are held, where the team and some of the Council’s current foster carers are available to answer any questions.
