Complaints about childcare
Complaints about childcare are addressed in different ways depending on the nature of the complaint.
To the childcare provider and/or ofsted
All registered childcare providers are required to have a complaints policy. Most complaints can be resolved directly between the parent and the provider through this process.
If you have followed this process and your complaint remains unresolved, or if you believe Ofsted should be informed, you can:
- Contact Ofsted
- Phone: 0300 123 4666
- Visit: Ofsted website
Please note: Ofsted only handles complaints related to breaches of Ofsted standards and does not intervene in financial disputes.
To Swindon Borough Council
The Early Years and Childcare Services at Swindon Borough Council can provide advice and guidance for parents who:
- have a query about early education funding
- have a complex query or require clarification regarding a childcare issue
For assistance, email: EY&CBrokerage@swindon.gov.uk.
If your complaint concerns a lack of availability of childcare, you can use the Council’s complaints, comments and feedback procedures.
