Synergy schools portal
The Synergy portal is a secure online resource enabling some internal children's service professionals to send information to the local authority (in relation to SEND) about the children/young people they work with.
These currently include:
- Education settings
- Educational Psychologists
- Advisory teachers
- Education Welfare services
- School admissions
Processionals who cannot currently access the Synergy portal are:
- NHS services
- Social Care
- Early Years settings who are not DfE registered as part of a school
- Other external services
Synergy are developing their professional portal function and this will be rolled out in the near future.
The Synergy portal allows Educational settings to submit any requests for Statutory Assessment, further evidence in support of assessment (if requested) and Annual Review documentation for those children and young/people with an Education, Health and Care Plan. It will allow the professionals listed above to submit any relevant SEND information for children and young people they work with to the local authority.
The SEND Service will use the Synergy portal to share information with settings and internal services listed above.
The main benefits of the portal are:
- Better engagement of the child/young person and parent/carer
- More efficient information gathering and sharing (a solution to encrypted email problems)
- Improved monitoring, and sharing the status, of an application
If you already have a Synergy account:
- Sign in to Synergy using your existing log in details
- Go to the School Access Module Homepage (SAM)
- Go to SEND forms
- Forms that can be submitted via the portal will be the same as those that could be submitted via the SEND portal. This includes Education Health and Care Needs Assessments, Statutory assessment advice and reports, funding requests and Annual Reviews.
