Pre-approval training
During the assessment process, you will attend the introductory preparation course called Skills to Foster. This six-session course is designed to provide you with a basic knowledge and understanding of fostering.
The sessions include details on:
- what foster carers do
- identifying and life chances
- working with others
- understanding and caring for children
- safer caring
- transitions
You will be granted access to our online learning platform to complete your course.
You need to complete the Skills to Foster course before you attend the fostering panel. See: The fostering journey
