School safe environment zones (SSEZ)
Schemes completed in Year 4 - 2023/24
The following top 23 schools identified to be included in the year 4 programme, underwent further investigations to determine the most appropriate measures, dependent on their specific circumstances.
The following lists and final scheme designs were installed and completed in 2024:
- Chiseldon Primary
- Oakhurst Community Primary School
- Catherine Wayte Primary School
- The Dorcan Academy
- There are no additional engineering features planned for St Pauls Drive. The existing school flashing amber signs on St Pauls are to be cleaned and maintained. It is proposed to reduce the speed limit to 30mph on the approaches to the toucan crossing that the students use to cross Dorcan way.

- St Joseph's Catholic College
- No additional engineering features were installed on Ocotal Way. The SSEZ programme to reduce the speed limit from a 40mph to a restricted road statues (30 mph), from the junction of Drakes Way to Transfer Bridges. The existing school flashing amber signs were cleaned and maintained with one of them being relocate away from the vegetation.
