Reading groups

Swindon has many reading groups. Most are run independently of libraries, meeting in homes, pubs and other locations but often with our support as suppliers of books and guidance.

Swindon libraries also host some reading groups.

Setting up your own reading group

If you would like to set up your own reading group then we can help you with support, guidance and the provision of books to borrow.

We also provide a specific library card for you, as the group leader, to use on behalf of your groups members. This has added benefits such as a longer loan period and the convenience of requesting sets of books for the whole group on one ticket.

Reading group subscriptions

There is a per item charge for all reservations, including reservations placed online. In order to support reading groups to manage their reservations for multiple copies of individual titles, we offer a reading group subscription service. 

This entitles your group to ten titles per group member. See our fees and charges page for subscription pricing.
