Hotels and other venues (non-religious), in the Borough can apply to be licensed to register as marriage and civil partnership venues.

Any objections to current applications should be made in writing by the closing date and time, stating the reasons for the objection, to:

Legal notices

As an approved wedding venue, you will be required to display a legal announcement at all weddings as outlined in the example notice below:

  • Blunsdon House Hotel has been approved as a venue for marriages and civil partnerships in pursuance of section 26(1)(bb) of the Marriage Act 1949 and Civil Partnerships (Registration Provisions) Regulations 2005
    The ceremony is taking place today in the Garden Room

Signs must be at least A4 in size and in large, clear font.
