Holiday activities and food programme
Since 2018, the holiday activities and food programme (HAF) has provided vital support to children receiving free school meals during holiday periods.
Following successful pilots from 2018 to 2020, the government announced on 27 October 2021 a three-year funding settlement of over £200 million per year for the programme. This funding covers the 2022 to 2025 financial years, with the final year being 2024 to 2025.
Around 8,000 children in Swindon are eligible for free holiday provision through this programme.
