Healthy schools services
The Healthy Schools Service promotes health and well-being of children and young people in all educational settings (whether schools or otherwise) within the Borough of Swindon.
The service provides staff in schools with information and resources to support the teaching of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and encourages involvement in a range of health-related activities and projects in order to reduce health inequalities in the population of children and young people.
While focusing on the education of children and young people during their school years, the service lays the foundations for healthier outcomes during adulthood.
Who the service is for
The programmes of education are aimed at children and young people aged from five to eighteen years-old in schools and other educational settings. While the children and young people are the ultimate benefactors, the service is targeted specifically at providing information, support and resources to the staff that deliver the educational programme to them. The service is local (serving the Borough of Swindon), immediate and free-of-charge to Schools.
Who can request the service
As this service is available as support to educational staff, it is normally accessed by teaching or administrative support staff within schools.
How to access the service
Schools can register to receive this service, and find further information, on the Swindon Healthy Schools website. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 3 working days of receipt.
