Raise your voice

Raise Your Voice is a group led by care-experienced young people who are passionate about making children’s social care services work better for them.

The group meets monthly to share experiences, voice their views and discuss what matters most to young people in care.

This initiative ensures young people’s voices are heard and included in shaping services and procedures that impact their lives in Swindon.

Activities include:

  • young people’s interview panels
    • Participate in recruiting social care staff
  • takeover days
    • Explore professional roles in social care offices
  • social events
    • Enjoy opportunities to meet and connect with other young people
  • summer BBQs
    • Relax and have fun during the summer with peers
  • annual award planning
    • Help plan and celebrate achievements
  • consultation work
    • Share your opinions and ideas - your voice matters!

Group details

Two age groups are available:

  • 7 to 12 years
  • 13 to 17 years
