Voice and influence panel

The voice and influence panel is for care-experienced young people aged 18 to 24 to share their experiences and shape the services provided for them in Swindon.


Who is it for?

A care-experienced young person is someone who:

  • is aged 16 to 25 and has been in the care of Swindon Borough Council
  • is no different from any other young adult and should be listened to and respected
  • may live with their foster family, in supported accommodation, or in semi-independent or independent accommodation
  • should have the same opportunities as any other young adult

What does the panel do?

Voice and influence panel members meet once a month in a safe, supportive space to:

  • collaborate on projects and contribute to consultations, ensuring documents and procedures are child-focused
  • provide feedback and share ideas to improve services for children and care-experienced young people in Swindon
  • share their experiences of care and discuss issues that matter to them
