Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub

The Swindon Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is responsible for screening and making decisions on all cases assessed as level four under the Right Help at the Right Time Guidance.

MASH team

The MASH team consists of professionals from various agencies, including:

  • Social workers
  • Police officers
  • Health professionals
  • Education staff

Their primary goal is to protect vulnerable children and young people by providing a rapid and effective response to new safeguarding concerns. This may involve:

  • offering support to children and families
  • addressing concerns about the safety or well-being of a child
  • acting when a child is at risk of harm

Office hours

The MASH team operates during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 4.40pm
  • Friday: 8.30am to 4.00pm

Out of hours

The Emergency Duty Service (EDS) provides social work support outside regular office hours, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. For urgent matters, contact the EDS by:
