We recently changed the name of Contact Swindon to Children and Families, Contact Swindon to better reflect the services provided.

Children and Families, Contact Swindon serves as the ‘front door’ to access the Council’s children’s social care services. It is available to families, residents and professionals across the Borough.

Children and Families, Contact Swindon provides a single point of access to request help and support for families or to report safeguarding concerns about a child.

This service is available to families, residents and professionals across the Borough who require help or have concerns about a child.

If you have a concern about a child or need to request help, you can contact us:

Messages sent to the former contact number and email will be automatically forwarded for six months. During this time, we are working to inform key partners and the public about the updated contact details.

Children and Families, Contact Swindon offers:

  • a central point of contact for the public and professionals regarding children's targeted support and safeguarding needs
  • a team of professionals from core partnership agencies delivering integrated services, including information, advice and signposting to appropriate support
  • an agreed process for assessing and analysing risk across agencies to determine if a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
  • a confidential shared record accessible to wider teams and agencies to support coordinated work with children and families

All initial requests for help and support are triaged by the Children and Families, Contact Swindon team.

If a request relates to a safeguarding concern, it will be forwarded immediately to our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

Early Help requests will also be triaged via Children and Families Contact Swindon, ensuring families receive timely support.

Inital Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) requests for information will be processed by dedicated team members within Children and Families, Contact Swindon.
