Further support
Are you in year 12 or 13, but not in learning? Do you need some more help before you are ready for a college course or to start an apprenticeship?
- If you are NEET (not in education, employment or training), you are eligible for support from a Youth Engagement Worker (YEW). If you don’t know who your YEW is, just email us at YEW@swindon.gov.uk and we will put you in touch.
Two projects started between summer 2016 and January 2017. You can contact them directly:
- Community First Building Better Opportunities Project - if you need help before you are ready for a more formal course. This is funded by the Big Lottery and the project commenced in October 2016.
Both Swindon College and New College have very flexible courses available for you if you are under 25 and looking for a new start. To discuss these further either contact Julia Hoskins juliahoskins@swindon.ac.uk at Swindon College or Jackie Oldham Jacqueline.Oldham@newcollege.ac.uk at New College.
Inner Flame also runs the Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Swindon, a 12 week programme to help you become more confident and motivated and improve your ability to work with others.
Confused about where to start? Speak to your Youth Engagement Worker (YEW).
