Health and wellbeing strategy

The Swindon Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out the vision of prioritising the prevention of ill health and focussing on reducing health inequalities. It considers the wide and complex range of influences on a person’s health and wellbeing, and seeks to increase the time that residents spend in good health.

The principle aims of the strategy are to:

  • improve mental health and wellbeing
  • eat well and move more
  • stop smoking and reduce alcohol.

In addition to the overall strategy, there are a number of individual strategies guiding work in specific areas of health and wellbeing on the Swindon Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) website
