School Admission Arrangements 2026 - 2027
We are consulting on the proposed School Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools and the Coordinated Admissions Scheme for 2026-2027 for all points of entry (Reception, Junior and Secondary).
We are also consulting on the In Year Coordinated Scheme and Catchment Areas for Maintained Schools in Swindon for 2026-2027 and the Relevant Area for Academic years 2026 to 2027 and 2027 to 2028.
The Education (Relevant Areas for Consultation on Admission Arrangements) Regulations 1999 require each education authority to draw up proposals for determining the relevant area or relevant areas for consultation by the admission authorities for the local schools. For example, the area to be consulted when undertaking subsequent consultations on proposed admission arrangements.
It is proposed that the Relevant Area for the 2026 to 2027 and the 2027 to 2028 academic years for all Swindon Primary, Infant, Junior, and Secondary schools/academies/free schools (including any schools that may subsequently become academies), is the geographical area of Swindon Borough Council.

The Admission Arrangements consultation will close on Friday, 22 November 2024 and the results will be considered at the February meeting of Cabinet in 2025.
