Parks and open spaces in Swindon - GWR Park, Faringdon Road
- In 1844, land to the west of the new Railway Village, between Faringdon Road and the church was purchased by the GWR from Lt. Col. Vilett, a local landowner, for use as a cricket ground now GWR Park, Faringdon Road.
- How to get there
- The park is situated in the centre of the Railway Village approximately 3 miles from the motorway. Take junction 16 of the M4 and follow the signposts for the A3102 (Swindon Town Centre). At the second roundabout take the third exit onto Wootton Bassett Road, At the next mini roundabout, take the first exit into Westcott Place (B4289), at the next roundabout , called Park Lane, you will see GWR Park immediately in front of you.
