We are an early intervention service for child and adolescent mental health. Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and Outreach Workers form part of our Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs).
The EMHPs provide individual and group sessions to children, young people and parents in our partner schools. They also work collaboratively with schools on the Whole School Approach (WSA), which comprises mental health awareness, staff training, consultation and other projects to improve staff and pupil mental health and wellbeing.
The Outreach Team as part of the Project Me Mental Health Support Team works within the community to raise awareness of mental health issues and promote healthy mental wellbeing. They also help children, young people and families, who might otherwise find it difficult to access mental health support, by introducing them to other local professionals, charities and organisations. The Outreach Team works with all young people across Swindon who are between the ages of 5 and 19, including young people who are not in education, employment or training or are electively home educated.
Our projects include (but are not limited to):
- Online wellbeing programme for the following age categories – 7-11 and 9-12.
- College enrichment sessions at both campuses
- Sign-posting for children, young people and their families
- Pop up community events
- Personal development days (within all Swindon Secondary schools)
- Competitions
- Holiday programmes
- Work with local schools to provide one off mental health and wellbeing events (such as taking part in a parent signposting event for mental health support, and providing mental health and wellbeing activities at summer fayres)
