Parks and open spaces in Swindon - Lydiard Park

Lydiard Park and Lydiard House - formerly the property of the Viscounts Bollingbroke - are owned by Swindon Borough Council. The park is open to the public, and entrance is free (there is a small charge for entrance to the house). The park is also used as a venue for various arts, community and sporting events.
Facilities

The following facilities are available:

  • Car park (pay and display) or find out about car parking season tickets

  • Male, female and disabled toilets
  • Modular Changing Places toilet:
    • located opposite the play area and near to the Forest cafe  
    • security lock that can only be unlocked using the Royal Association for Disability Rights (Radar) National Key Scheme
    • includes a height-adjustable wash basin, a height-adjustable changing bench, a shower and a ceiling track hoist, which is compatible with a loop sling attachment. It is important to note that slings are not provided.
  • All toilet facilities are open every day, except for Christmas Day, from 7:30am to 3:30pm between the end of October and the end of March, and from 7.30am until dusk (no later than 9.00pm) for the rest of the year
  • Play area
  • Nature reserve

  • Dogs are welcome in the park, though not allowed in the children's play area, playing fields, Lydiard House and Walled Garden (except guide dogs), the cafe and indoor areas of the Tea Rooms
How to get there
From the M4 junction 16 follow Swindon at the first roundabout turn left and left at the next, signposted Lydiard Park and Hook.
