Report a missed waste or recycling collection
We know it's important to collect your waste and recycling, but sometimes we can't do it as planned. You can check this page to see if we have updates about missed collections. If your street isn't on the list, tell us we missed your collection.
Use our waste wizard to learn more about what can be recycled and how. For a list of what goes in each container, look at household waste collections.
Let us know about a missed collection
Put all your waste and recycling containers as close as possible to the edge of your property by 6.30am on your collection day. Make sure they are easy to see, or we might not collect them.
You can check your collection day by using our rubbish and recycling collection days tool.
If we don't collect your bins by 5.00pm, and you think we've forgotten, report it online before the end of the next working day.
You can also tell us if a public litter bin needs emptying.
We will come back to collect your waste or recycling if:
- it was put out on time and in the right place
- it had the right things in it
- you told us we missed it before 5.00pm on the next working day after the day it should have been collected
You can report a missed collection of:
- general waste
- recycling
- food waste
- garden waste (have your garden waste reference number ready)
- bins in a shared bin store
If you put your bin or recycling out late, or it's too late to tell us we missed it, you can either:
- take it to the household waste recycling centre ('the tip')
- take your waste or recycling in and put it out again for your next collection
